My goal is to make the Beta into a reasonably comfortable dual sport/SM bike, for use on the street, on forest single track, and at track days (asphalt road course). Specifically, I would like to find a source for these parts: Are owners using later model parts on the older bikes?
Yet, I see pictures of those 525s with long range fuel tanks, Seat Concepts comfort seats, etc.
I see quite a bit available for later model years, but almost nothing for the 2006-2010 years. I have some questions about aftermarket parts availability. (I haven't seen the street wheels, so I don't know if they are SM or just dirt wheels wrapped in street rubber.) It will come with both dirt and street sets of wheels. It has current street plates, and is in pristine condition. The Beta has been completely gone through recently, and hardly ridden since. My group of friends has a history of passing bikes around as is convenient. He bought it cheap from another old friend, so I will probably get it cheap too (around $3,500). I started this thread because I am considering buying a 2007 Beta 525 from a long time friend of mine.
